Thoughtful therapy. Meaningful change.

Warm, honest therapy for older adolescents and adults navigating emotional distress, relationship and attachment difficulties, neurodivergence, identity and life transitions, trauma and loss, chronic health challenges, and the everyday pressures of trying to keep everything together.

Together, we’ll work together to make sense of things and create practical, lasting change.

I work with adults and older adolescents who are:

  • Feeling anxious, overwhelmed or stuck

  • Struggling in relationships or with attachment

  • Exploring neurodivergence or identity

  • Processing trauma, loss or difficult experiences

  • Living with chronic health challenges or pain

  • Navigating life transitions or direction changes

Meet Dr ashley

Hi, I’m Dr Ashley Frew, a Clinical Psychologist with over 26 years of experience in clinical practice. I bring a warm, down-to-earth approach to therapy.

My interest in psychology developed from a desire to understand people at a deeper level and explore how meaningful change can be brought about. My work has always brought me a genuine sense of purpose in helping others to feel understood and supported. Over two decades later, I still bring that same curiosity and care into my work, supporting clients to better understand themselves, navigate difficulties, develop practical strategies and create meaningful, lasting change.

My Approach

My work is grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy—a depth-oriented approach that looks beyond symptoms to understand the emotional patterns, relationships, experiences and beliefs that shape how you see yourself and move through the world. We might explore what sits beneath anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, relationship difficulties, low self-worth or feeling stuck, while also using practical, evidence-based strategies to help you feel and function better in the here and now.

I don’t believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all. I draw on approaches including (but not limited to) CBT, ACT, DBT, Schema and attachment-based therapies, tailoring my work to you, your history, strengths, values and goals. I bring particular sensitivity to the ways identity, relationships, neurodivergence, life transitions and the pressures of high achievement can shape emotional wellbeing. My aim is to offer a warm, thoughtful and genuine space where you can be honest without judgement, understand yourself more deeply, and create change that feels both meaningful and sustainable.
